Beverly Ruth Bader says, “I am dedicated to painting nature from my imagination, where color, texture and shape fuse into a living image and spirit.” She has studied at the Arts Student League in New York and The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Sue Becker has had a life long love of jewelry and needlework. After trying her hand at various forms of needlework, the native New Yorker began creating jewelry about five years ago. She currently lives in Longmont, Colorado but will be returning to NYS next year.

ALLISON BLAKE SCHOFIELD
SCULPTOR - CHATHAM
Allison is one of a dozen of artists in this country practicing the ancient art of hand carving letters in stone. Carving slate using only a mallet and chisel is subtle and intricate work that allows the hand of the artist to breathe life into the stone. Allison's work is influenced by a deep love of history, American traditional arts and early American gravestones. She creates carvings to honour all of life's important moments, grieving, falling in love, weddings, the birth of a child, and spirituality.

HELEN BURTON

Pottery – New Lebanon

Helen Burton discovered the joys of working with clay at the 92nd Street Y in New York City. She returned to making pottery thanks to IS 183, formerly the Interlaken School of Art in Stockbridge, Mass. For the last 8 years, she has been pursuing her craft, taking classes, workshops and assisting in the work of the pottery studio.

Kate Butler recently had 3 paintings in the Columbia County Council on the Arts 2006 Juried Show exhibited at the Hudson Opera House. These paintings can be seen on the CCCA website: www.artscolumbia.org. The show is up through April 8, 2006.
Kate has previously exhibited at the Old Chatham Country Store and other venues.

William Caligari is the Managing Principal and creative force behind WILLIAM CALIGARI Interiors and Architecture. Bill is president of the board of IS183, the Artschool of the Berkshires. Anita Cartin is a folk artist in the style of our American heritage. She takes recycling to new heights, making something new out of something old by carving a Santa from the stump of a Christmas tree or hooking a rug using the wool of a grandmother's coat. Whether your needs are whimsical or commemorative, she is happy to create unique designs for a wedding rug, a Christmas tree skirt, pillows or stair treads.

Lampwork Glass Beads – Philmont

Linda Hartka-Reiss has always loved glass and fiber arts. She works in her home studio creating “lampwork” beads which she fashions into jewelry. The beads are formed from Murano Italian glass melted and “wound” in an oxygen propane torch and then kiln fired, creating a fascinating chemical interaction of various colors of glass, particularly when silver or gold are part of the mix.

Michael Tong was born in Shanghai China and came to the US 1982 at the age of 14. In 1996 he started Tong Studio in
Brooklyn NY - a metal workshop specializing in design and production of custom furniture and architectural components. He has taught Sculpture and Design at William Paterson University. His work has been reviewed in the New York Times, Artforum, Village Voice and Newsweek magazine. The primary focus of his work has been to establish connections between objects and spaces relevant to their functional and social purposes. His work engages the viewer as a critical and crucial participant who defines functional objects as ritual paraphernalia.. In 2004 he relocated his studio and
home to Columbia County.
