ARTIST STATEMENT
I believe we can and need to re-create the world into harmony and balance. As I work colors, scraps, and textures into
oneness, I heal and accept the disparate pieces of my life. My quilts are covers to dream wishes and hopes into reality for
my awake life to express my vision.
Cloth and texture are part of every memory I have since I was two. Holding a 1,900 year old Coptic woven fragment in my
hand, much later, started my interest in the symbolism inherent in fiber throughout recorded history.
Personally I am always inspired by Manly P. Hall's words in "The Symbolism of Light and Color":
"To conquer the confusion of colors is to overcome the confusion in ourselves and to become more keenly aware of
the laws which govern the growth and perfection of all things."
