KATHARINE HOUK

Katharine has lived in Columbia County for about thirty years. Her Chatham studio, Art and Soul, is walking distance from her home. The images in her textile artwork reflect her love of nature, her Celtic heritage, and her fascination with the relationships between science, spirituality, and nature. Besides creating pieces for wall and floor, Katharine designs and creates artwear, vestments and other textiles for ritual. Her work has been exhibited in museums regionally as well as nationally. Katharine earned her degree in Design from the State University College at Buffalo, and her Masters degree from Hartford Seminary in Connecticut.
